Lyari varsity plans to set up pharmacy department

Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Lyari (BBSUL) Vice
Chancellor Prof Rasheed Ahmed Shah said on
Wednesday that keeping in view the increasing demand
of the field of pharmacy, the varsity plans to set up
pharmacy department at its premises.
He said that the Sindh government has been requested
to provide financial assistance to meet the requirements
in connection with the setting up and running of the
pharmacy department at the BBSUL.
Talking to a delegation of notables of Lyari, Prof Rasheed
Ahmed Shah said that five departments have been
established at the varsity and after the addition of
pharmacy department the number will raise to six, said
a statement.
He said that 40 candidates would be given admissions
in the first batch of the pharmacy department, of
which 50 per cent admissions would be given to the
candidates from Lyari, Keamari, Malir and Gadap areas,
25 percent to the candidates from Sindh, including
Karachi, and the rest of 25 percent admissions would
be given on open merit.
