Her story makes history: Meet the new Miss America!

Nina Davuluri won the Miss
America pageant Sunday night, the
first Indian-American woman to
wear the crown. So what led her
to this triumphant moment?

Davuluri was born in Syracuse, New York, in 1985. At
age 4 she moved to Oklahoma, then eventually to
Michigan, where she would go to college.

One of Nina Davuluri's dreams was to be the first
Indian-American Miss America, and last night that
became a reality.
The 24-year-old was crowned by Mallory Hagan of
Brooklyn, who was the reigning winner. As most Miss
Americas tend to do, Nina shed happy tears during her
moment of glory. Learn more about her in the gallery!
